I am originally from Kernersville, NC and am excited about having a practice on the same street I grew up on. I've always felt a connection to people and genuinely care about their emotional well-being. I graduated from Wake Forest University in 2016 with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
My previous work has been in community mental health and substance abuse. I also have experience in a substance abuse residential setting. I enjoy working with adults and teenagers struggling with depression, anxiety, alcohol and drug abuse and mood disorders. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to work through thoughts and emotions to create healthy behavior patterns. I also use Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness practices in therapy.
In my spare time, I am an active advocate in the Down syndrome community, enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading and attending local events.
